StationMD Launches Specialized Telehealth Services in Washington, D.C. for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

WASHINGTON, D.C. — January 6, 2026 — StationMD, a national telehealth provider dedicated to serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), announces the launch of its specialized telehealth services in Washington, D.C., providing critical healthcare access to individuals with I/DD residing in Host Home, Residential Habilitation, and Supported Living settings.

The new Health Assessment and Coordination (HAC) service offers unlimited access to specialized physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners trained in I/DD care. This monthly subscription service (Procedure Code: 99349 UI GT) is specifically designed for IDD Waiver recipients experiencing urgent or emergency clinical events, providing immediate medical assessment and intervention without the need for costly and disruptive emergency room visits.

“StationMD represents a paradigm shift in how care is delivered to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities,” said Geoff Musti, Vice President of Growth and Engagement at StationMD. “Our service not only improves health outcomes but also provides peace of mind to caregivers and staff who can access specialized medical expertise in the moments they need it, without worrying about arranging transportation or additional care management.”

Early adoption of StationMD services in Washington, D.C. has shown significant benefits for both care recipients and providers. Cindy Rhoden, Director of Nursing at St. John’s Community Services, shared a compelling testimonial about the service’s impact:

“StationMD has been a great resource for the people we support in D.C. Not only does it keep the individual from having to sit for hours in a waiting room at an urgent care facility or emergency room, it gives the staff in the home great reassurance and confidence to know a knowledgeable physician with I/DD experience is just a phone call away.”

The HAC service provides IDD Waiver individuals with one unit per month (maximum 12 units per year), offering unlimited access to specialized I/DD healthcare providers within each monthly subscription. The platform includes 24/7 availability with remote participation capabilities, allowing nurses, family members, and guardians to join calls as needed. This service does not replace an individual’s primary care provider. When treatment is required, clinicians can provide comprehensive progress notes to primary care physicians to ensure continuity of care. In cases where advanced emergency care is necessary, StationMD clinicians can provide detailed reports to emergency room staff for seamless care transitions.
