At StationMD, we are honored to recognize the incredible work of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who make a meaningful impact in the lives of those they support. This month, we’re excited to spotlight Monica Joly, a dedicated DSP at Sunshine Communities in Ohio.
Monica is known for being caring, attentive, and passionate, qualities that shine through in her daily work. Her team at Sunshine Communities shared, “Monica has truly embraced the benefits of utilizing StationMD for the individuals she supports. She takes a proactive approach when she notices even small changes in their health, ensuring they receive the care they need as quickly as possible.”
For Monica, the most rewarding part of her job is helping individuals and making a difference in their lives. She encourages fellow DSPs to take the time to truly understand the people they support: “Know your individuals and pay close attention—especially to their body language if they are nonverbal.”
Monica recalls a recent time when StationMD played a crucial role in supporting one of her individuals:
“I had recently called StationMD for one of my individuals, and the doctor really listened to me since I’ve been with her for 10 years. The doctor advised me to transport her to the hospital, where she received the care she needed. I absolutely love everyone involved with StationMD—they are always so helpful and caring for our individuals.”
Outside of work, Monica enjoys camping, traveling, and, most of all, caring for others. Her dedication to the well-being of her individuals, combined with her proactive approach to healthcare, makes her an exceptional DSP.
