New RN Triage Service Expands Access to Expert Nursing Care for Direct Care Providers and Individuals with I/DD
MAPLEWOOD, NJ – August 28, 2025 – StationMD, a telehealth provider specializing in the unique healthcare needs of individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD), is excited to announce the launch of its Nurse On-Call service. This service offers live Registered Nurse (RN) triage calls, providing top-tier nursing care when it’s needed most.
The Nurse On-Call service is designed to bridge the gap in nursing services, offering 24/7 access to an RN via telephone call. Our team of RNs is available on demand to address illness, injury, medication questions, and general health concerns. This service alleviates the burden on existing nursing staff, allowing them to focus on in-person care while ensuring patients receive timely support and follow-ups.
“Nurse On-Call is about giving caregivers and support staff the confidence to act quickly and appropriately when health concerns arise,” says Randi Morgan, Vice President of Nursing Operations at StationMD. “By connecting them with our specially trained nurses any time of day, we’re supporting those on the ground to prevent small issues from becoming emergencies and ensuring individuals get the right care at the right time.”
Since January 2, 2025, agencies such as the Institute for Applied Human Dynamics (IAHD) have been utilizing this new service, revolutionizing RN on-call support. The service enables seamless communication with StationMD’s clinical team and provides comprehensive clinical support, resembling StationMD’s urgent care capabilities. This allows for swift escalation to StationMD Urgent Care doctors when necessary, ensuring an efficient process for all involved.
“StationMD has once again raised the bar with its latest service—live RN triage calls—offering top-tier nursing care when it’s needed most,” says Erica Robinson, Director of Clinical Supports at IAHD NY. “This has revolutionized RN on-call services, helping ease the burden on existing nursing staff, allowing them to focus on in-person care while ensuring individuals receive timely support and follow-ups. Our nurses… can sleep at night and do not have to worry about missing phone calls. StationMD’s RN triage service line is making a significant impact on nursing on-call services, filling a crucial gap in healthcare and improving patient outcomes.”
The Nurse On-Call service is StationMD’s newest addition, enhancing our 24/7 urgent care and scheduled telepsychiatry offerings. In providing this suite of services, StationMD ensures comprehensive support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing faster access to high-quality care while significantly reducing unnecessary medical costs.
Currently, Nurse On-Call is serving individuals and providers in New York, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas, with planned expansion to additional states.
