Paul has held executive roles with the four largest U.S. health plans and several start-ups building and managing all aspects of provider networks, health and health care outcomes improvements, and related operations. He’s been accountable for local, national, and international teams performing provider network development and management, care management, analytics, strategy, innovation, and change management accountabilities covering up to $8 billion a year in medical spend, including on both the East and West Coasts of the U.S., as well as with international operations and numerous joint ventures and start-ups. He has led collaborations and the business operations between health plans and provider communities to advance value-based care delivery for almost 30 years.
Most recently Paul led Aetna’s provider network and network operations nationwide before founding and serving as CEO of an oncology care management business committed to transforming patient health, experience, and financial outcomes. He has held several CEO, board, and founder roles and currently is independent, working closely with several private equity-backed health care businesses.
Previously, Paul served as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps and he earned a Master of Science in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He currently resides with his wife of 30 years and ten children in Chapel Hill after having lived around the country and briefly overseas.
