Staff Accountant

Reports to: SVP of Finance

Employment: Full-Time, Exempt

Location: Maplewood, NJ; minimum of 2 days in office required

StationMD is a telehealth company dedicated to serving individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD). All StationMD clinicians are board-certified and specially trained to treat individuals with I/DD. Clinicians are available 24/7 via telemedicine for urgent and non-urgent medical matters. StationMD also offers scheduled psychiatry telemedicine to individuals with I/DD. In providing this suite of services, StationMD enables individuals with I/DD faster access to high-quality care and substantially reduces unnecessary medical costs.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and advanced Excel skills. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of our company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and contributing to the overall success of our organization.

Responsibilities:

Assist with month-end and year-end close process
Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Post cash receipts, payroll entries and journal entries to General Ledger
Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process
Support audits by providing necessary documentation and information
Assist with accounts payable, payroll and accounts receivable
Perform other accounting ad hoc duties and analysis as assigned

Qualifications

2-4 years accounting experience in related field
BA/BS degree in accounting, finance, or related field of study
Proficient in Microsoft office including advanced skills in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables)
Experience with QuickBooks is required
Experience in financial planning and analysis (FPA) is preferred, which includes budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
Ability to manage time and prioritize multiple deliverables
Ability to proactively identify and assist in implementing opportunities for continuous improvement
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Critical thinker with ability to work with minimal supervision
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy
