StationMD is a telehealth company dedicated to serving individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD). All StationMD clinicians are board-certified and specially trained to treat individuals with I/DD. Our urgent care service line offers clinicians that are available 24/7 via telemedicine for urgent and non-urgent medical matters. Our behavioral health service line offers longitudinal scheduled psychiatry and psychology telehealth services to individuals with I/DD. In providing this suite of services, StationMD enables individuals with I/DD access to high-quality care and substantially reduces medical costs.

StationMD is looking for a clinical leader to help grow our behavioral health service line.

This is a full-time salaried position where you will grow your clinical expertise and continue to build our successful behavior health service line. You will work alongside the chief medical officer and our practice managers in growing and maturing our behavioral health practice. You will work 15-20 hours a week seeing patients and carrying your own clinical load, while using the rest of your time to lead our service line. You will oversee physicians, psychologists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and psychology externs. You will grow the quality assurance program for the group and make recommendations on the technological, operational, and business initiatives of the company.

Requirements:

  1. Must hold an MD/DO degree.
  2. Must hold a board certification in psychiatry.
  3. Must have an active medical license and DEA license in at least one state.
  4. Must have at least 3 years of clinical psychiatry practice with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  5. Must have a strong knowledge of evidence-based psychiatric practices.
  6. Must have healthcare leadership experience; advanced degree in management a plus but not required.
  7. Must have a desire to build a team of psychiatrists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and psychologists to serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  8. Must be comfortable using telemedicine technology and electronic medical records.
  9. Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to explain medical terms and conditions to a non-medical audience.
  10. Must be willing to supervise and collaborate with nurse practitioners and physician assistants.

Administrative responsibilities:

  1. Oversee a team of physicians and other behavioral health clinicians.
  2. Provide guidance and execute recommendations regarding quality improvements, standards of care/practice guidelines, compliance, and legal issues to the executive team.
  3. Provide oversight, education, and guidance for our practitioners.
  4. Grow our quality and process-improvement program.
  5. Manage the clinical revenue and spend for the service line.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with our clients and their leaders.
  7. Ensure compliance with organization and professional standards and applicable laws and regulations.

Clinical responsibilities:

  1. Conduct online psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients and determine appropriate treatment plans using evidence -based practices.
  2. Review patients’ medical history and collect additional information from family members, caretakers and psychologists as needed.
  3. Evaluate patients emotional, behavioral, and mental state through discussion, observation, and analysis.
  4. Prescribe medications as needed and understand the implications of polypharmacy in the I/DD population.
  5. Administer, score, and analyze psychiatric tests and track patients’ progress.
  6. Coordinate with external healthcare professionals when hospitalization is required.
  7. Collaborate with therapists and counselors to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  8. Monitor and track patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
  9. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
  10. Maintain accurate and timely records of patient care.
