StationMD Now Available in California

StationMD is a vendorized service providing 24/7, specialized medical care for eligible Regional Center clients. The virtual service offers immediate access to clinicians trained in caring for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). This allows individuals and their care team to address urgent, non-emergent medical needs, reduce unnecessary emergency room visits, and support continuity of care when their PCP is unavailable.

What is StationMD?

StationMD is a specialized company dedicated to serving individuals with I/DD. All StationMD clinicians are board-certified and specially trained to treat individuals with I/DD. Using StationMD helps prevent traumatic ER visits, unnecessary hospital admissions, and minimizes disruptions to activities, medication schedules, meals, work, and sleep.

About Enrollment

StationMD is a Regional Center Vendorized Service. To enroll, use vendor number PA2762 and service code 117. Clients must maintain an established Primary Care Physician and have Medi-Cal or other health insurance. Regional Center service vendorization covers the monthly subscription fee, while medical visits are billed to the client’s insurance.
The service is available to Self-Determination Program participants with individual authorization required for each client. Please use service code 358 when working with your FMS.

What Happens After a StationMD Visit?

Following a virtual visit, StationMD will coordinate with the individual and/or their caregiver/guardian and the individual’s regular doctors as needed, to ensure continuity of care.

Should an individual need a physician’s attention immediately, StationMD will coordinate with the individual’s preferred emergency department to prepare for the patient’s arrival.

StationMD is not a replacement for primary care but rather an additional resource when people with I/DD need immediate medical care.
