We’re thrilled to shine our September spotlight on Elizabeth Montano from A Better Way of Living, whose reliability, compassion, and genuine care have made her an invaluable member of her team.
“While all DSPs are considered the backbone of the agency, Elizabeth is one who sincerely takes pride in the work that she does,” says the New Mexico agency. “She will go above and beyond to advocate for the individuals she supports. She works assisting individuals in both employment services and community support services, always with a positive attitude and always with a willingness to learn. Elizabeth is one of A Better Way of Living’s most valuable employees.”
When asked what motivates her, Elizabeth shared: “Making a difference in my community and help empower and motivate the individuals that I work with to live life as independently as possible.“ This commitment to empowerment shines through in everything she does.
Elizabeth describes herself as the type of person who likes to learn about any and everything she possibly can. She has a huge personality which helps her excel in everything that she does. Her advice to fellow DSPs perfectly captures her approach to the job: “Be understanding of each individual’s situations and listen to what they say. Always encourage individuals to try new things, be patient and have fun.”
