Company Summary:

StationMD is a telehealth company dedicated to serving individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD). All StationMD clinicians are board-certified and specially trained to treat individuals with I/DD. Clinicians are available 24/7 via telemedicine for urgent and non-urgent medical matters. StationMD also offers scheduled psychiatry and primary care telemedicine to individuals with I/DD. In providing this suite of services, StationMD enables individuals with I/DD faster access to high-quality care and substantially reduces unnecessary medical costs.

Position Summary:

StationMD is seeking a Revenue Manager with prior physician practice experience. This person will be responsible for managing all billing and revenue functions of the company, including invoice creation and delivery, receivables monitoring and reconciliation, and oversight of our fee-for-service claims processing through our third-party billing company. The Revenue Manager will work with the Operations team to ensure accurate, timely, and complete claims coding to achieve maximum reimbursement for all services. The Revenue Manager will be responsible for developing billing policies, procedures, and reporting with the aim to reduce bad debt write-offs, underpayment, and denial of claims in accordance with organizational and insurance industry standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

StationMD’s Revenue Manager will use equal parts experience, skill, and vision to manage the complete revenue cycle to support the rapid growth of StationMD. The Revenue Manager role will encompass several duties and responsibilities, including:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day billing process
  • Ensuring invoices are accurate, delivered timely, and that collections are properly managed
  • Managing accounts receivable
  • Ensuring payments are received and reconciled in a timely manner and that any outstanding balances are properly managed
  • Managing the medical claims process, which includes billing, coding, processing, reporting and reimbursement
  • Developing and implementing revenue management strategies to improve revenue cycle performance, such as reducing claim denials and improving collections, according to the guidelines set forth by the company
  • Working closely with other departments within the organization, such as Operations and Clinical to ensure that operational plans and practices appropriately address revenue recognition
  • Communicating with insurance carriers, the billing company, clients, office staff, and other third parties to collect outstanding balances due, resolve disputes, and reduce denials and general nonpayment issues
  • Developing and overseeing comprehensive receivable analytics and reporting including trends, days outstanding, payment variances, and denial issues by source
  • Developing and managing ongoing review of billing department processes, procedures, and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement based on organizational and industry standards
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in physician practice billing, including automated billing experience using industry-accepted software
  • Multi-state billing experience is preferred
  • Experience billing insurance, MCO, Medicaid and Medicare
  • CCS certification is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in finance, billing, revenue cycle management, and/or accounts receivable
  • Knowledge of data analytics, budgeting, forecasting, reserve analysis, and receivable analysis
  • Highly proficient in Excel, Word, and other Office programs
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other departments
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, start-up environment
